On March 4, 2020 we only had 26 deaths related to Covid-19 here in the US. Some people were claiming that this was a fake crisis designed to bring down the Trump administration. Rush Limbaugh being the most vocal. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity said that there was nothing to be concerned about, and that people should just go about their daily lives as usual. They claimed that it was absolutely insane to be this worried about something with such few deaths. According to these leading Christian conservative pundits, Covid-19 was no worse than the common cold and flu. At this same time, I published several videos explaining exponential growth. I explain why this was very serious, and if there wasn’t any action taken, the death count would be extremely high. Today is May 4th. And today we have 68,465 Covid-19 related deaths in the US. In just over eight weeks, the coronavirus has killed more people then the Vietnam War, the swine flu, and last year’s flu season. Yet somehow still today, there are people maintaining the same out-of-touch worldview they were expressing back in March. To these Christian conservatives, this is still a fake crisis. It takes a special kind of mind to resist such obvious pressures from reality. This type of thinking comes from the magical and mythological levels of human moral development, and it is a very dangerous worldview. This kind of thinking is truly weapons-grade idiocy…
