The Jan 6th “free speech” defense

The day after Trump’s indictment for his involvement with the January 6 attempt to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power, one of the leading defense arguments that is being put out by right-wing news outlets, is that this is a matter of Trump’s right to free speech. Former VP Mike Pence, after Trump repeatedly pressured Pence to toss out the election results, Pence refused. Trump responded to Pence with the following: “You’re too honest.” Was Trump knowingly asking Pence to do something dishonest?… pg. 33 of the indictment…
