I wasn’t going to watch the hearings. That’s until I heard so many pundits on the right pounding the point home to their viewers and listeners not watch the January 6th Committee Hearings. According to them, there was nothing to see, best just to move along. According to pundits such as Dan Bongino, Sean Hannity, and Tucker Carlson, these hearings were nothing more than part of a witch-hunt, and little more than a Hollywood production “show trial.” That was my cue to start watching the hearings. I soon learned why they didn’t want their followers watching.
Today in 2024, we still hear the same chant coming from MAGA members. The January 6th hearings were, as YouTube commenter, Stephen Dehart, put it: “a staged, ‘Hollywood,’ type presentation.” If this were the case, it would mean Trump’s own White House staff, his own cabinet members, his official council advisors, and his own daughter, would have had to have been involved in some sort of wild and complex conspiracy.
In the upcoming Jack Smith DC trial many of these same people who testified at the Jan 6th hearings are going to testify in open court, under oath, against Trump. Now we can add two people that will testify at the DC trial that did not testify during the Jan 6th hearings. Former Vice President Mike Pence, and former White House Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows. I don’t think Trump lawyers will have any luck with the MAGA “staged Hollywood presentation” defense argument in court!
There isn’t anything you can do with people who subscribe to these untethered worldviews. In reality, Pence held the line and defended our Constitution by not participating in the BIG Lie. In reality, the 2020 election was one of the most investigated and scrutinized elections in our history. In the MAGA universe, you just simply move the goal post. No matter how many investigations and recounts, it will never be enough for the MAGA mind. This is how the MAGA mind resists the pressures of FACTS and REALITY! 
The MAGA mind never addresses anything in detail and continually skews the facts while cherry picking things to cling to. In reality, witness after witness appeared and testified against Trump. Almost ALL of them Republicans and TRUMP SUPPORTERS! This is very uncomfortable for the MAGA mind, so they dismiss out-of-hand everyone as “corrupt.” No details, just out-of-hand, and under the bus! If this goes to trial, Trump will more than likely be found guilty.
