FOX LAKE, IL. Sep 2, 2015 – On Sep 1, 2015, at approximately 8:00 am, Fox Lake police officer, Lieutenant Joe Gliniewicz, was shot and killed while reportedly investigating suspicious activity involving three men along Route 12 and Sayton Road, in Fox Lake. When backup officers arrived, they were horrified to discover that Lieutenant Gliniewicz had been shot and killed. A manhunt immediately ensued to find the killers. Having little to go on, the first day’s search was unsuccessful (View more images here).
UPDATE: 9-15-2016 – It looks as if authorities are now investigating whether it might have been a suicide.
UPDATE: 9-4-2015 – My speculations could be WAY off. Authorities may still be totally in the dark as to who they are looking for. A video tape has now surfaced that they are studying to possibly help identify the suspects.

After reporting that they had exhausted the original two-mile search area on Tuesday, law enforcement expanded the search area on Wednesday. However, they seemed to still be focusing in the same general area, and spent hours walking up and down several streets along Rollins Rd., concentrating between Elm Ave., and Woodland Ave.
For the most part, local residents were more than willing to assist law enforcement in their search, by allowing officials unrestricted access to their garages, sheds, and even their homes.
While I was following the officers in their search, a woman who lives in the area suddenly yelled out “Hey! Hey!” as she approached the officers with her cellphone in hand.
One officer spoke on the woman’s phone for several minutes, which then caused the officers to start heading back to their cars.
When I asked the woman with the phone if she knew anything, she informed me that she received a phone call from her friend who works at Dollar General, and that there were two girls in the store who allegedly claimed they knew who the shooters were. (View more images here).
I have no knowledge as to the volatility of this alleged lead, but I do know the police went to the Dollar General store to question the woman who heard the two girls talking.
In fact, infowars.com reporter, Joe Biggs, and I went to the Dollar General before the police got there, and we both spoke with the woman ourselves. She told us that she “wanted to do the right thing,” but really didn’t want to get publicly involved. In respect to her request, I’ve refrained from showing any images of here, or the Dollar General store where she works.
She did confirm that she heard two girls talking about the shooting, and that they told here that they were aware of who was involved with the shooting. She also confirmed that she personally knew the two girls who claimed they know who the suspects are.
We will all have to wait and see, but this could be a legitimate tip that could help lead to the capture of the three suspects. In my opinion – and I mean MY opinion – law enforcement has an idea of who they are looking for, and what area they might be in. It is my belief that these are local men, and that it will not be long before they are apprehended. Again, this is purely my “street smart” assessment, and NOT proven fact.
Meanwhile, back at the Fox Lake police station, saddened citizens paid their respects at a temporary memorial wall.
