George Floyd Case: Trial Delayed
In my opinion, prosecutors will be hard-pressed getting a murder conviction. Judge Peter Cahill decided to postponed the start of Derek Chauvin’s trial in the killing of George Floyd on Monday, after an appeals court ordered him to reconsider his original decision to dismiss a third-degree murder charge against the former Minneapolis police officer. The decision came as a pool of potential jurors waited to start the selection process.
Michael George reports the judge is waiting on a decision from another court on adding a separate charge. It delayed jury selection yesterday, but that’s expected to start later today. FULL REPORT
