Grit Street Shooter: “I was too much ‘in it,’ lesson learned…”
Me – Sure, sometimes it’s good to let our images sit for a while (journalists do not have this option). We get attached because we were there, we took the shot, we know what the subject was.
As photographers, we need to keep in mind that the viewer is NOT there with us when we are capturing the image.
When we keep this in mind, we then begin to ask ourselves, “what IS the subject? “What are the essential elements? And WHAT items LEND to that subject..?”
… everything else must be stripped away. Generally that means… we must get closer…
