I often times think of Tony still to this day. I fear that he is either dead, or permanently institutionalized. Tony would email me from time to time until about 2 years ago. Tony has an interesting story, and at one point had a normal life. He was a bass player in a band and worked for the city of Chicago. Mental illness at some point crept in. Tony was rewriting the entire Bible by hand. This was part of his testament and his mission. Tony believe that once he had finished copying the Bible by hand that God would find him a home. You will be learning much about Tony and his life on the streets of Chicago in a series I will be doing in Gravis Magazine called, Alley Boys. I spent five years documenting the lives of a group of homeless men in Chicago’s South loop. Tony is just one of those people.
