To create, to build, carve, etch, and mark my will into this day is what gives my life purpose and meaning. Not for others, not for the "common good" not an endless act of self-sacrifice for my neighbor, but pride in and for myself. This is what brings meaning and happiness to the self, and as a byproduct, to others as well. You'll never see a happy picture of a saint. They value self-suffering for others.
