Street Photography Tip: Fast-Action Focus
One thing that tends to get street photographers into hostile situations when taking candid captures, is due to them spending too much time tinkering around with their focus. Here are a few tips on focusing fast for street photography:
1. Use a short focal length. The shorter the focal length of the lens, the easier it is to focus.
2. Pre-focus on a stationary object and then allow the subject to come into the focal-plane without having to make any adjustments to focus.
3. Practice, practice, practice! Knowing one’s equipment is the most fundamental requirement for fast focusing.
